Board ship for a cruise to the heart of the Iroise natural marine park, in search of three islands at the very end of the world: Molène, Ouessant and the Ile de Sein.

Navire Penn Ar Bed

Having cast off from Brest’s commercial port you will head across its wide bay, known as the Rade de Brest, then on through a narrow strait and round the Pointe St Mathieu headland before arriving at your first port of call, the fishing port of Le Conquet. From here, the crossing to the islands will take you through the Molène archipelago with its maze of little isles surrounded by clear turquoise waters, a veritable paradise for numerous species of birds and marine mammals.

Molène

Let yourself be enchanted by Molène, by its labyrinth of streets blooming with flowers and by the incomparable welcome of its 250 inhabitants. A walk around the island takes less than an hour and affords exceptional views to the other isles of the Molène-Ouessant archipelago.

Ouessant

Separated from Molène by the Fromveur tidal current, the island of Ouessant is the largest and also the highest in altitude in the Iroise Sea, and you will find its landscapes wild and majestic. Set at the far end of Europe, its five lighthouses standing sentinel, and with its traditional houses, dry stone walls and freely roaming flocks of sheep, Ouessant successfully maintains its customs as well as its remarkable natural heritage.

Île de Sein

Starting again from the mainland, from Audierne, you can embark from the harbour of Sainte Evette onto the Enez Sun, for a boat trip out to the Ile de Sein. Your crossing may well prove unforgettable before even reaching the island, as dolphins often come and play around the bow of the ship once it has passed the Pointe du Raz headland and the La Vieille lighthouse. The island itself is 2km long and low-lying, barely a few metres above sea level. Pebble beaches, lighthouses and chapels… take the coastal path to explore the island before returning to the port with its narrow streets and colourfully painted façades.
