Languidic is known for its verdant countryside and its tranquillity, with the River Blavet running through it. It is sometimes nicknamed ‘the mini Jura’ due to its many hiking and mountain biking trails, which are sometimes quite steep. On a bluff overlooking the river you can visit the village of Poul Fetan, a reconstruction of a 19th century hamlet with artisans at work.

On the river, at the truly charming village of Pont Augan, you can rent a canoe or a horse-drawn carriage, or take a stroll along the towpath, or cast a line if you fancy a spot of fishing.

The prestigious megalithic site at Carnac, the Kermario alignments, is less than 30km away, as is the ‘wild coast’ of Quiberon, the departure point for boats going to the enchanting island of Belle-Ile-en-Mer.

The Gulf of Morbihan and its many little islands can be visited by speedboat, from Auray; do not miss the romantic island of Ile aux Moines. The 18 hole golf course at Ploemeur is only about half an hour away.
